Are there any contraindications for cryotherapy?

Contraindications include altered skin sensation, open wounds, impaired circulation including peripheral artery disease Grade III and IV, high grade anemia, hypersensitivity to cold, such as Raynaud’s phenomenon, cold urticaria, cryoglobulinemia, and paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, peripheral vascular disease, advanced atherosclerosis, cachexia, epilepsy, and pregnancy.
